Skitrack THE DEVICE:

SKITRACK is a professional tracing device for cross country ski tracks, equipped with a petrol engine and snow-cutter on board, designed to be towed by a snowmobile.

SKITRACK, THE OPERATION:

Thanks to its compact dimensions, it can be easily be transported over a pickup, or over a small trailer. The unit is provided with two removable wheels, which allow easy movements even on a ground not covered by snow. Once the machine in on track, it has to be hooked to the snowmobile and then started. While tracing the tracks, SKITRACK performs the following operations, in one single pass:

1. SNOW CUTTING

it cuts and breaks the snow on the ground, even a very icy one, with a top level snow-cutter, acting with theeth at variable depth (deeper on the tracks), to give the snow the right consitency to be then shaped in a high quality track.

2. FORMING THE TRACK

by means of specially designed sliding blocks, installed just behind the snow cutter, high quality tracks are formed.

3. STABILIZATION AND CONSOLIDATION ON THE TRACKS

the tracks get their high quality and durability thanks to the compression generated by the peculiar geometry of the sliding blocks and to the weight of the machine, resulting in an excellent shape and compactness of the formed track.

4. SECTIONS OF THE PATH OUTSIDE THE TRACKS

these sections of the path are finely compacted and groomed, resulting in a very accurate finishing.

5. MANUAL TRACK -ERASING DEVICE

if you want to erase previously traced tracks, you can manually operate the special device which enters the snow with its rear serrated profile deleting any previous track.
